What should I expect during my visit?

Our extensive eye tests are tailored to meet your individual health needs and history. Initially, one of our optometrists will review your medical and family history and discuss any specific symptoms you may be experiencing, such as headaches or vision changes.

During the eye test, you will undergo various tests, including:

• Visual Acuity Test: This evaluates the clarity of your vision. Each eye will be assessed separately using a range of lenses and a letter chart to determine how well you can see at different distances.
• Refraction Assessment: This test determines whether you need corrective lenses, such as glasses or contact lenses, and determines the appropriate prescription for optimal visual comfort and clarity.
• Retinal Examination: Known as ophthalmoscopy, this procedure involves dilating your pupils with eye drops to allow a detailed examination of the retina, optic disc, and blood vessels at the back of your eye.
• Glaucoma Screening: This test measures the pressure inside your eye and helps detect glaucoma or assess the risk of developing it. Early detection is crucial to prevent significant vision loss or blindness.

Following your test, one of our optometrists will compile your current eyewear and note any necessary prescriptions or potential referrals.
